Prompt does not collect any user data. Specifically:
- We do not collect browsing history
- We do not collect tab information
- We do not collect bookmark data
- We do not collect personal information
- We do not use cookies or tracking technologies
- We do not share any data with third parties
Permissions Explained
Prompt requests the following browser permissions to provide its functionality:
- Tabs — To search and display your open tabs in the command palette
- Bookmarks — To search and display your bookmarks
- Storage — To save your preferences (theme, accent color) locally on your device
- Active Tab — To enable contextual actions like bookmarking the current page
- Scripting — To inject the command palette overlay into webpages
- Sessions (optional) — To restore recently closed tabs (Pro feature, only requested after license activation)
All data accessed by these permissions remains locally in your browser. Nothing is transmitted to external servers.
Licensing & Payments
If you purchase a Pro license:
- Payment is processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your credit card information.
- Your email address and license key are stored securely by our licensing provider for license validation purposes only.
- Your license key is stored locally in your browser after activation.
Third-Party Services
Prompt uses the following third-party services:
- Stripe — Payment processing. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Keygen — License management. License keys are validated against our self-hosted Keygen instance at licensing.breakcode.io.
